Break from the Madness

Oh, how I love the Carolina beaches.  We took our annual beach vacation in the beginning of June.  A two day, 13 hour drive to get to this.

 The weather was wonderful and the kids enjoyed the days at the beach.

Sandcastles were made and destroyed, holes were dug, and mermaids were created.

 We found the perfect climbing tree in the back yard.  It is called a live oak and splits low to the ground and is very strong.  Even I ventured up to show the kids how it is done.

We ended our trip with a one day marathon haul back home, 13 hours and of course all of the amazing views you get to experience.

for example....

8 foot statues of random animals beside a gas station, and no they weren't for sale.  I couldn't help but wonder why they all were pointed in the same direction.  I mean Why?
